224/6/06 Did you know that one in ten thousand kangaroos is born white? That's not albino white, but it's called leucistic. The absence of grey or red colouring is thought to be caused by a lack of skin pigment, and it can occur in both red and grey kangaroos, and in quokkas as well. These leucistic kangaroos have brown eyes, and often have white or partly white offspring.

11/4/06 We understand that many Victorian rural residents are being harrased by yobbos out shooting kanagroos at night. It's illegal of course, to shoot from roads or without a Permit, and to get a Permit the yobbos have to have written permission of a property owner. Supposedly, but it appears that the Victorian DSE are not too fussy about who gets a permit!
